Foredom Collet Reducer Adapters

These are NOT collets. You can use them with Foredom Flex Shaft Handpieces or Micromotor Handpieces — as long as the handpiece has a collet. They are ‘step down’ adapters that fit inside a collet and allow the use of smaller shank size accessories. Therefore, No need to change handpiece collets.

Use a Foredom Collet Reducer Adapters with collet-style handpieces to avoid changing collets for smaller accessory shank sizes. Precision machined adapter fits inside a rotary tool collet and allows the use of smaller shank size accessories – without changing the collet.

A collet is a subtype of chuck that forms a collar around an object to be held and exerts a strong clamping force on the object when it is tightened, usually by means of a tapered outer collar. It may be used to hold a workpiece or a tool.

We have a wide range of mandrels for use in any model of handpiece.

Maximum and recommended speeds depend on the type and size of accessory, as well as the mandrel in use. The ratings we publish for our mandrels are based on an 1″ overhang with an accessory that weighs under 1 gram, and is smaller than 1/2″ in diameter. As a general rule, smaller accessories and mandrels can be used at higher speeds than larger accessories and mandrels. It is a good idea to follow the recommendations that come with both the accessory and the mandrel you are using.
