Excerpts from Dylan:  at one time or another, everyone has encountered a flat-plane style sea captain.  He is a classic subject matter.  For my interpretation of this classic character, I wanted to create a figure with natural balance.  This natural relaxed pose incorporates realistic details that I like to put into my carvings.
