The Merlin2 Quick Change BuffingPad easily locks and unlocks to our Quick Change Connector (HTC) Backing Pad.  The buffing pad has a 2” diameter and is 5/16″ thick.  It is medium hard and made from quality felt consisting of compressed wool.  In addition, the pad has a softer, flexible edge for contours.  It can therefore be used with wax, oils, polishing compounds, etc.  It is a great tool for polishing and lapping on wood, synthetics, metals, car detail polishing.

Each buffing pad has a plastic threaded screw designed to quickly lock on and off to our Quick Change HTC backing pad, secured only to a Merlin2 mini grinder.  While it can be used on the fixed speed Merlin2, we recommend using it on the variable speed model.  Which allows greater control with its speed dial.  This allows you to move the speed up or down depending on your application.

The abrasive pad is affixed to a standard plastic male thread with industrial adhesive .  Because the quick change system provides a secure attachment it stays attached.  Furthermore, the variety of available accessories allows swapping from one application to the next in seconds.
