Mid-Size Swiss Made carving tools are identified by a “D” preceding the Sweep.  D Mid Size tools average 7-3/4″ to 8″ in length therefore providing two-handed control. Carvers can use a mallet with Swiss Made Mid-size tools.  Pfeil thinks their Mid-size are for carvers with smaller hands.  However many professional carvers we know prefer them over the heavier full size tools for mid size projects.
