Basswood Plates for Carving and Burning

Our Basswood Plates for Carving and Burning are commercially made from high quality, kiln dried basswood in the USA.  The plates have a clear finish and they are laminated to prevent warping.  They are specifically made for carvers and woodburners.  They are free of knots and dark grain lines therefore, as perfect as nature can make them.  In addition, we attempt to maintain a 10% moisture content for easier carving.  We recommend you keep them packaged to prevent moisture loss.

These 12″ diameter plates are laminated to protect against warping.  The reverse grain direction helps accomplish this as well as providing a consistent grain coloration.
