Razaire 530
The Razaire 530 is the smallest, quietest, most powerful and versatile portable dust collector in the world at only 11″x11″x4″ and weighs 9.5lbs.
Pop has one of these and recommends it without any hesitation whatsoever. Yes, it is a little costly (due to its quality components) …but you will be amazed at how great it works. For most carving applications, it is not necessary to carve inside the acrylic hood -working 6″. But in front of it usually provides satisfactory results. The unit comes with a standard 2″ filter which can easily be removed for cleaning.
Tornado 1000
Our US Made Woodcarvers Tornado 1000 Dust Collector is ideal for those who want performance over portability. Featuring a 1000 cubic foot per minute impeller fan it therefore moves such a vast amount of air that it will handle any carver’s dust problem. It moves nearly twice as much air as the Razaire and is more costly but at 24 pounds it’s not as portable.
